Decreasing the Stress in Your Life

Increase stress in your life can have a negative impact on your blood glucose and cause it to rise.  When you body is faced with emotional situations or stress, hormones are released which cause blood glucose values to rise which can lead to poor control of your diabetes.  Trying to approach stress in a positive way can lead to better management of your diabetes.

Here are some tips below that may help you reduce the stress in your life:

  • Relaxation through massages and meditation
  • Remember to establish priorities and set realistic goals in your life
  • Make healthy lifestyle choices
  • Practice a faith of your choice
  • Remember to try and think positively
  • Remember to laugh and maintain a sense of humor
  • Build a support team by surrounding yourself with knowledgeable health care professionals that can provide expect medical treatment and emotional support
