How to Get Carbs Fast!

When your blood glucose drops below 70 and you need to raise your blood glucose in a hurry, it’s good to have quick carbs ready.  Below are some ways to get roughly 15 grams of rapid-acting carbohydrate.

  • Glucose Tablets — 4 to 5
  • Gumdrops — 10
  • Honey — 1Tbsp
  • Jelly Beans — 6 Large
  • Lifesavers — 5 to 7
  • Orange Juice — 1/2c
  • Raisins — 2Tbsp
  • Regular Soda — 3/4c
  • Skim Milk — 1c
  • Sugar — 1Tbsp

Remember: It is important to re-check your blood sugar 15 minutes after taking any of the above.
