Three Habits for Happy Feet

Feet often get neglected in diabetes care. They are very important to us as they are our main mode of transportation and we should be taking extra good care of them!  By adopting a few good habits now you can ensure your feet stay protected and healthy.

Habit #1– Check your feet daily. If you need help, grab a mirror to look at the bottom of your feet. You want to look for anything that is out of the normal (i.e. any cuts, blisters, etc). If you notice something that is not healing,  it may be time to visit the doctor.

Habit #2 – Allow proper protection for your feet by wearing appropriate shoes and socks that are comfortable on your feet.

Habit#3 – Wash your feet everyday and use moisturizer everywhere except between your toes.
